The Free Officers Movement, an anti-Daesh group, announced the killing of a senior Daesh leader in Mosul on Thursday.
Movement member Mowafiq al Sakr told the Iraqi Media Network that his group’s special forces killed “Abu Anas al Shernafi”, a Yemeni national and a senior Daesh group leader, during an operation in Mosul.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports said that Daesh militants had executed dozens of hostages, mostly civilians, who they kidnapped during a raid on Anbar province.
