Many women suffered Saturday excessive tear gas suffocation during a peaceful demonstration marking the International Women’s Day at Qalandia checkpoint to the north of Jerusalem.In order to disperse the demonstration, Israeli force stationed at the checkpoint fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters at protesters, causing many to suffer excessive gas suffocation.Dozens of women took part in a demonstration organized by the Secretariat General of the Women General Union to Qalandia checkpoint to mark the International Women’s Day, demanding the right to enter Jerusalem.Head of the Women General Union, Intaissar al-Wazir, called upon the UN Security Council to denounce the practices of ethnic cleansing, land seizure, Judaization, and house demolitions carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities to change the demographics in Jerusalem.She also called upon the international community and the International Red Cross Committee to initiate an international investigation to hold Israel accountable for its crimes, the most recent of which was killing of Mu?taz Washaha in cold blood..Meanwhile in Gaza, hundreds of women rallied in a demonstration to the UN headquarters markingthesamoccasion.Demonstrators shouted slogans calling for lifting the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, protecting the Palestinian people in general, women in particular, against Israeli attacks, and ending the Palestinian internal rift.
