Cairo - MENA
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is set to meet with South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit during his visit to the African country Wednesday.
Shoukry will convey a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to his South Sudanese counterpart, Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aatti said.
Shoukry is also scheduled to hold talks with Barnaba Marial Benjamin, the Foreign Minister of South Sudan, on means of boosting bilateral relations, Abdel Aatti added.
The talks will also tackle the current crisis in South Sudan and Cairo's role to get the conflicting parties to meet halfway in order to concentrate on building their country, the spokesman said.
The Egyptian top diplomat will also visit a number of development projects that are being implemented by Egypt, he said.
Abdel Aati made it clear that Shoukry will then head for Asmara, Eritrea, for talks with President Isaias Afwerki and Foreign Minister Osman Saleh on ways to enhance bilateral relations in all fields.
The meetings will also focus on regional issues of mutual concern, the spokesman added.
