President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday took part in the 19th educational seminar organized by the Armed Forces.
The seminar aims to raise awareness among leaders, officers and members of the Armed Forces to unite concepts towards various issues that affect the safety and security of the army and its role in protecting Egypt's national security in all fields.
The symposium included a documentary on challenges facing peoples all over the world, especially the Middle East region in light of the spread of violence and terrorism that destroyed many countries in the region but failed in Egypt, thanks to the cohesion of the army and the people.
Azhar scholar Ossama al Azhari delivered a speech on seriousness of the extremist ideology on the homeland.
Violence contravenes the provisions of the tolerant Islamic Sharia, Azhari said.
A child also delivered a poem by the late poet Abdel Rahman el Abnudi in which he expressed the Egyptians' happiness for the opening of the new Suez Canal.
Egyptian scientist Ahmed Zewail took part in the seminar and delivered a lecture entitled "science and the future of nations," which dealt with the most promising opportunities for Egypt to catch up with scientific and technological progress.
He hailed the Armed Forces for its efforts to support the Zewail City of Science and Technology project implemented by the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces.
Minister of Defense and Military Production General Sedqi Sobhi, Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy, leaders and officers took part in the seminar.
