President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called on Muslim scholars, intellectuals, journalists and the Egyptian people to protect the country.

He made his comments during his participation the Laylat al-Qadr ceremony organized by the Awqaf Ministry at Azhar Conference Centre.

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab attended the the ceremony along with Grand Imam of Azhar Ahmed Tayyeb, Pope Tawadros II and Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar.

Leaders of several parties and Azhar leaderships attended the ceremony.
