Cairo - MENA
A political group said on Saturday that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's wearing of a military uniform during the opening of the New Suez Canal conveyed five messages to the world.
Donning military fatigues on a monarchy-era flotilla for a distance of 35 kilometers which was the most fortified area in Bar Lev Line established by Israel when it occupied Sinai, Sisi wanted to say that the Egyptian Armed Forces are able to cross any barriers in any time, the Public Coalition to Support Egypt and the President said.
The Egyptian army destroyed Bar Lev Line during the 6th of October war in 1973.
The second message was that the Egyptian army is able to accomplish development and construction projects just as winning wars, the group's general coordinator Safwat Abdel Azim said.
Also, the Egyptian army wanted to reassure the people about its capabilities as it is fighting a war against terrorism, he added.
Sisi also wanted to raise the morale of the Armed Forces that faced many hardships during the last period, he said.
The last message Sisi wanted to convey was that the Suez Canal is fully secured by the army.
Egypt opened the new waterway on August 6 in the presence of world leaders.
