President Abdel Fattah El Sisi demanded on Tuesday the government to provide commodities and keep the prices stable.
Sisi made the directives during his meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and the ministers of planning, international cooperation, trade and industry, public business sector and investment.
During the meeting, the president stressed the necessity of encouraging the state institutions to continue their national role in achieving the comprehensive development process carried out by the state, spokesman for the presidency Alaa Youssef said.
The spokesman added that the prime minister gave a presentation on the progress in the implementation of a number of projects being carried out by the state in various fields.
The premier also pointed out that the cabinet's economic ministerial committee approved a plan and a program of action for the public business sector on developing the performance and restructuring the sector's companies within a 24-month timetable.
The president called for moving ahead with efforts to improve the conditions of the public business sector companies.
He called for benefiting from all state-owned assets and increasing the profits of public sector companies and restructuring them.
