Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting Thursday with Defense Minister Sedky Sobhy, Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar along with the chief of staff of the Armed Forces, head of the General Intelligence, and a number of senior Armed Forces commanders.

The meeting tackled developments of the internal security situation along with preparations and plans by various security bodies to secure the country, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.

Sisi issued directives to maintain the highest levels of vigilance in anticipation of schemes aiming at shaking the country's stability.

He ordered to continue targeting terrorist and criminal hotbeds.

Sisi, meanwhile, stressed the need to attach importance of the security of citizens.

Sisi also underlined the importance of responding with the utmost firmness and strength to any attempt to attack military, police, government and private establishments.

The president hailed the great scarifies of the Armed Forces and the police in confronting terrorist and criminal acts.

He also saluted Egypt's martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of homeland.
