President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Friday granted Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the Collar of the Nile in appreciation of the friendly and distinguished relations binding the two countries.

The Collar of the Nile (Kiladat El Nil) is Egypt's highest state honor. It is awarded by Egypt for exceptional services to the country.

King Salman is currently paying his first visit to Egypt since his inauguration as king in early 2015.
