President Abdel Fattah El Sisi made a tour Sunday of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and Al Galala Mountain area in Sinai.
The meeting with SCA Chairman Mohab Mamish took up the progress made so far in the new Suez Canal project and the authority's preparations regarding the projects to be floated during the economic conference of next month, a well-placed source said.
The president also visited SCA’s Maritime Training and Simulation Center. He also made a maritime tour during which he followed up dredging operations at the canal's new lane, the source said, adding that Sisi visited Al Galala Mountain area as well.
