The blood of martyrs has written the history of Egypt and laid the foundation for building a modern state, said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The remarks were delivered following Friday prayers at the Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi Mosque in Cairo.

President Sisi paid tribute for the nation martyrs, who sacrificed their lives in defending the security of Egypt and its great people.

Present at the prayers were Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and a raft of army commanders and Azhar clerics.
