Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar on Sunday to review the present security situation.
The president praised the performance of policemen in dealing with an incident outside a Hurghada hotel and preventing a terror attack from taking place, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
The president also hailed the achievements of security bodies in countering extremist elements, the spokesman said.
Sisi underlined that special care should be given to the families of police martyrs.
He also said that control over markets should be intensified to fight overpricing and manipulation and ensure the availability of all goods and supply commodities.
