President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Monday with members of the specialized council for education and scientific research led by Dr. Tarek Shawky.

Sisi reviewed during the meeting the outcome of his recent visit to Japan pertaining to the educational system in the Asian country, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.

The president said this system pays attention to values and the spirit of collective work along with the quality of curricula.

He pointed out to the precise follow-up in this system to ensure its quality.

The president asserted the importance of making use of the Japanese educational expertise.

Shawky reviewed at the meeting projects of the council including one on teachers which is implemented in cooperation with The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The plan is meant to hone the skills of teachers, he said, adding that it is funded by Long Live Egypt Fund at a cost of EGP 60 million.

He reviewed also a national project that aimed at finding out a new education system.
