President Abdel Fattah El Sisi mourned 21 Copts who were beheaded by Daesh in Libya, the presidency said in a statement.
"President Sisi mourned the Egyptian martyrs who have fallen victim to the brutal terrorism," the statement.
It said Sisi is to chair a urgent meeting of the National Defense Council and announced a seven-day mourning period.
