Cairo - Arab Today
Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Addis Ababa to attend the 26th African Summit on Friday reflects Africa's importance as a foreign policy priority, said former assistant foreign minister Mohamed Hegazy.
This is the third time Sisi has taken part in the African summit, Hegazy said in press statements.
His visit coincides with Egypt's election as member of the African Union Peace and Security Council for three years, the diplomat noted.
Egypt has also assumed a membership at the UN Security Council as of January, he added.
According to Hegazy, Egypt's membership at the UNSC will help review African issues at the international organization.
