President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi performed the eid prayers Monday at the air force mosque in Heliopolis.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi and chief of staff Mohamed Hegazi were praying at the same mosque.
Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa delivered the eid sermon at the air force mosque.
He denounced blasts carried out by people under the name of Islam.
Gomaa also touched upon a hadith by the Prophet Muhammad in which he authorized leaders to give from the money of the rich to the poor to meet their needs on that day.
