President Abdel Fattah El Sisi urged Egyptians to carefully elect members of the upcoming House of Representatives that will shoulder great responsibilities during the coming period.

"A new parliament will be elected before the end of the current year after a law on constituency division was endorsed," Sisi said during an Iftar banquet of the Egyptian family.

He stressed that the new parliament will enjoy great powers, warning that progress could be hindered if the best representatives were not chosen.
