President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held on Tuesday a meeting to discuss means of develop the coastal city of Alexandria.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, as well as the ministers of housing, local development and investment, and Alexandria governor.
Sisi urged taking all needed measures to protect the city from heavy rains and maintaining sanitation networks ahead of the winter season.
He further called for easing traffic congestion in the Mediterenean city through establishing more roads and tunnels.
The meeting tackled also a number of under-construction development projects in the coastal city, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
"The president ordered the housing minister and Alexandria governor to follow up technical studies, which have been carried out to develop Alexandria," the spokesman noted.
He also called for involving the private sector in the public transport development projects in Alexandria to ensure providing high-quality services for residents.
