Cairo - MENA
United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Mohammed Qarqash has said the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to his country is very important in light of the current developments in the Arab region.
In an interview with Egyptian press accompanying president Sisi in his visit to the UAE, Qarqash added that Egypt was the heart of the Arab nation and that the UAE and other Arab countries had an interest in a strong and flourishing Egypt as its neutral and moderate culture spreads to the Arab neighbors and affect them.
He praised the role played by al Azhar which, he said, serves as the platform of spreading the moderate values of Islam.
Qarqash said the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group was misunderstood by the West as they thought it could water down the extremism of the terrorist Islamist trends, adding that the West understood they were controlled by extremist thoughts.
The UAE read the situation in Egypt differently as it was sure MB could win the elections in Egypt through providing aid and services to the poor, but later they would fail in ruling a state as big as Egypt.
