President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Sudanese President Omar al Bashir witnessed on Wednesday a huge military parade of the 6th armored division of the Second Field Army.
The move marked the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the 6th of October Victory.
The parade was attended by Minister of Defense and Military Production Sedqi Sobhi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Mahmoud Hegazy, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, House of Representative Speaker Ali Abdel Aal in addition to a number of armed forces senior commanders, ministers, media men and public figures.
Commander of the Second Field Army Nasser Mohamed Asi thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar al Bashir for their participation in the ceremony marking the 43rd anniversary of the 6th of October Victory.
In his speech, Asi said the past few years witnessed an unprecedented qualitative leap in the field of armament to face regional threats.
He further thanked the General Command of the Armed Forces for their support for the Second Field Army units and formations.
Asi urged Egypt's servicemen to exert utmost efforts to protect Egypt and purge Sinai from terrorists.
At the end of his speech, Asi paid tribute to the army’s martyrs who sacrificed their souls to safeguard the country.
