President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi

Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Tharwet underlined on Thursday the importance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to the kingdom, saying it is the biggest proof on the Jordan's special status for Egypt.
The ambassador told MENA that Egypt will never forget the countries that supported it during the critical time it passed through.
The visit comes as part of the continued coordination between the two leaderships to face current regional threats. "What affects the Egyptian national security affects the Jordanian one and vice versa," he said.
The diplomat said Egypt and Jordan share identical views towards finding a fair solution to the Palestinian issue based on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He termed as excellent the Egyptian-Jordanian relations, saying relations between the two countries are progressing because they are based on common interests.
