Police troops have been heavily deployed around Tahrir Square since the early hours of Monday as Egypt marks the fifth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.

Traffic is flowing smoothly through the iconic square in downtown Cairo, MENA correspondent said.

Three central security vehicles could be seen near Mohamed Mahmoud Street, which leads to the square, he said.

Two vehicles of the rapid deployment force are also there, he added.
