A serviceman was injured in an attack on a checkpoint in southern Sheikh Zuwaid Friday.

Mohamed Hamed, 25, was shot in the head by a number of gunmen who opened fire at the Karm el Qawadees checkpoint in southern Sheikh Zuwaid.

The gunmen fled the scene.

Hamed was moved to hospital.
