South Sudan hails Egyptian humanitarian assistance

South Sudan's Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management minister hailed on Sunday the delivery of Egypt's humanitarian aid and food supplies to the troubled south.

It comes in response to South Sudan's request to get assistance from Egypt and Egypt's pledge to grant the neighboring South a 2-million-dollar worth of humanitarian assistance.

The humanitarian aid, offered by Egyptian Agency for partnership development to rescue South Sudan refugees, was delivered by Egyptian Ambassador to South Sudan Ayman Mokhtar el Gamal amid wide media coverage.

The delivery of the humanitarian assistance aims at reflecting Egypt's appreciation of the time-honored relations between the peoples of two countries, the Egyptian ambassador told MENA.

He added that the Egyptian Agency for partnership development is due to dispatch a medical convoy, comprising 10 doctors, to Juba on February 15.

Praising Egypt's continued support for her country, the South Sudanese minister said that latest aid included humanitarian, medical and tons of food supplies.
