Cairo - Arab Today
Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal said the parliament had achieved great accomplishments in the two months of its convention despite the unfair criticism directed to it.
During a meeting with newspapers chief editors and MENA board chairman, Abdel Aal said the parliament passed 342 draft laws and rejected one in the two months.
He said he bears huge and unprecedented responsibility because he is the first speaker of a parliament comprising 594 lawmakers, most of them independent, meaning the presence of diversified directions and no majority leading the vote.
