Foreign minister Sameh shoukry

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry's meeting with his Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek on Monday reflected the positiveness of relations between the two countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

During the meeting, the Czech minister congratulated Shoukry on Egypt's completion of a political roadmap with the convocation of the new parliament. Zaoralek stressed Czech's keenness on communication between the two countries' parliaments.

The Egyptian minister hailed Czech's support for Egypt's nomination for a non-permanent seat of the UN Security Council and for the memberships of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

"Egypt is looking forward for Czech's support inside the European Union to clarify the realities of the situation in Egypt," Shoukry added.

The Czech top diplomat stressed his country's interest in boosting ties with Egypt, which is a pivotal country in the Middle East, Abu Zeid said.

The meeting took up the bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the economic domain and joint industrialization, the spokesman added.

They also tackled ways of promoting the cultural relations and encouraging cooperation in the field of scholarships.

Earlier this evening, Zaoralek concluded his three-day visit to Egypt.
