A strange object was found inside one of the buildings overlooking Tahrir Square on Monday, a security source with the Interior Ministry said.
In statements to MENA, the source added that civil defense forces received a report about a strange object inside one of the buildings in Downtown.
Civil defense forces and bomb disposal experts rushed to the area and found that the strange object was a fake bomb that does not contain any explosive materials, added the source.
