Peacekeeping mission in Darfur

The Sudanese government asserted on Tuesday that states have no right to impose air ban on flights of the hybrid peacekeeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID).

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry is the only authorized body in this regard according to the international conventions.

The government of North Darfur state has imposed an air ban on planes belonging to the UNAMID and suspended all its flights from the state’s capital, El Fashir, according to news reports circulated by some Sudanese newspapers.
