Newly-appointed Sudanese Defense Minister Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibin Auf issued a decision on Tuesday to name Brigadier Ahmed Khalifa al Shami as new Spokesman for the Sudanese Armed Forces.

Shami was selected for holding the post in succession of Colonel Khaled Saad who served as the army's spokesman for 10 years.
