Suez Security Chief Tarek el Gazzar inspected on Thursday checkpoints deployed outside churches to secure Copts' celebrations of the Easter.
In press statements, Gazzar said police forces are on alert to secure houses of worship.
He vowed to firmly face any attempt to break the law.
He also checked on security at Ahmed Helmy Tunnel, which links the city with Sinai.
