Syrian government forces made big advances in Quneitra and Reef Aleppo amid fierce clashes with opposition factions, said the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) Saturday.

Clashes are going on between the Syrian army and the opposition forces. A number of people were killed from both sides.

Quneitra sits in a sensitive piece of territory around 70 kilometers (40 miles) southwest of the capital Damascus and has been the scene of frequent fighting between various insurgent groups and the Syrian military.
