Armed Syrian opposition factions have taken almost full control over Djesr al Shoghour city in Rif Edlib.

Sky News carried the news Saturday, quoting the Syrian human rights observatory.

The observatory said that the control over Djesr al Shoghour will open a route for the armed opposition to reach Lattakia, where the Alawi rule is dominant,

The Nusra Front and Islamist brigades entered Djesr al Shaghour Saturday after fierce clashes that started Thursday, said director of the Syrian human rights observatory Rami Abdel Rahman.

The armed opposition has control over the biggest part of Djesr al Shaghour, Abdel Rahman said, adding that regime elements have fled the city.
