The Syrian opposition took control of new strategic areas in Al-Zahraa and Al-Ramosah in Aleppo, amid intense hostilities in many areas as regime troops using heavy artillery, the Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) said Monday. Opposition forces took control of strategic Sadkob area after heavy clashes with opposition gunmen, killing dozens of regular forces, reports on the ground by SRGC said. The opposition took control of Al-Zahra area, a heavily fortified area. In response, regime forces threw four powder kegs on residential areas in Hanano area and Al-America. Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights said opposition forces advanced in Al-Ramosah area in Aleppo, cutting off key logistic routes for regime forces. Earlier, eight civilians were killed and another 36 were injured in explosions across Syria as government forces claimed to have assumed control of two towns in the strategic southwestern region of Reef Dimashq.
