Tamarod (Rebel) movement's branch in Luxor said it backs army and police actions against calls for staging protests while raising copies of the Holy Quran planned on November 28.
The Salafist Front is calling for nationwide demonstrations against the government on Friday.
The front called on the protesters to hold aloft Quran copies during the demonstrations.
The movement said the front's protest calls are just a propaganda, accusing it of spreading hate speech and destabilizing the country.
