Azar supports the unity of Bahrain's territories and rejects any interference in its domestic affairs, Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb said on Wednesday.

During a meeting with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his accompanying delegation, now visiting Egypt, Tayyeb stressed that King Hamad's visit to Azhar reflects his deep appreciation of this Islamic institution.

"Bahrin will remain the land of cultures, ideas and doctrines," he said.

The meeting tackled a number of Arab and Islamic issues as well as Azhar's role in spreading the moderate teachings of Islam.
