Secretary General of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) Mokhles Qotb on Sunday said the killing of a Croatian hostage represents a flagrant attack on the human rights to
a safe decent life and work.

In a statement, Qotb said such terror acts would not succeed in undermining the security and stability of Egypt.

Terrorist groups will not succeed in their plans to terrorize foreigners in Egypt and hit Egyptian tourism, which represents one of the main resources of the country's national income, he added.

The Egyptians became fully aware of plots targeting their country and will complete their process towards eliminating terrorism, achieving development goals and building a modern state, the NCHR secretary general said.

Egypt will overcome all terrorist attempts to harm the country internally and externally, he concluded.

A photo was circulated online on Wednesday showing a decapitated body allegedly belonging to Croatian hostage Tomislav Salopek, who was abducted on July 22.

The abductors have previously threatened to kill Salopek if Egyptian authorities did not release jailed "Muslim" women.
