The Sharjah Police arrested five Bangladeshi nationals who possessed over 3,500 pirated pornographic CDs on Monday. The suspects were found with many printers and scanners that were used to copy films and print the film covers. The CDs were supposed to be sold in the Industrial Areas of Sharjah. The police had received a tip-off about a group of Asian men selling pirated pornographic films in the Industrial Area No.2 and Al Yarmouk. “During investigations, we came to know the identities of the suspects and their whereabouts. We raided their home and seized all the equipment used in the crime,” said an official of Sharjah Police. Endowment boxes Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF), mandated to supervise Awqaf and the wellbeing of minors, aims to increase the number of endowment boxes placed at key locations across Dubai from 71 to 200 in 2012, according to a staff reporter. The goal is to provide multiple access points for people wishing to participate in humanitarian activities. Endowment donation boxes will be installed in public utility facilities such as shopping malls, hospitals and health centres, co-operative societies and government institutions, petrol stations as well as other sites approved by the Department of Social Solidarity.
