Thousands of people participated in a military funeral of a police officer in Luxor governorate, Upper Egypt, on Sunday.

Captain Mostafa Helmy, 26, breathed his last Saturday when a shell landed near a checkpoint in Sheikh Zuwaid city in North Sinai, killing and injuring a number of servicemen.

The mourners chanted anti-terror slogans.
