A state of high security was declared at Cairo International Airport in the aftermath of a terror attack that targeted the convoy of Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat in the eastern Cairo district of Nozha.

Head of Cairo airport security Tareq Fathy inspected security measures taken at the airport’s arrival and departure terminals, passenger buildings and leading roads.

Special Forces units were deployed to secure the entrances and exits of the airport, security sources said.
