Alexandria security directorate stepped up security measures across the governorate to secure celebrations marking the inauguration of the New Suez Canal on Thursday.

The city security director Ahmed Hegazi held a meeting with security officials to discuss the measures of securing vital establishments.

Hegazi called for a swift and decisive response to any attempt to ignite violence or plant suspicious objects.
