Cairo Criminal Court

The Interior Ministry stepped up security measures ahead of a verdict in the trial of ousted president Mohamed Morsi and 14 others charged with inciting the murder of demonstrators outside Ittihadiya presidential palace in December 2012.

The Cairo Criminal Court is expected to issue the verdict later today.

More policemen have been deployed around the Police Academy, outside Cairo, where the trial is being held.

Morsi and his co-defendants – including several top Muslim Brotherhood leaders – are charged with inciting the murder of opposition demonstrators during clashes that broke out between Morsi's terrorist MB group supporters and opponents outside the presidential palace.
