Cairo - MENA
Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat referred an owner of a tourist village in el Shorouk city to the criminal court over charges of mistaken killing of 7 people, including 4 children, and injuring 26 others in the collision between school bus and a train.
The Prosecution charged the tourist village's owner of committing mistaken killing and endangering people's lives.
Investigations revealed that one of the private schools in Tanta organized a trip for its students and parents in one of the villages on Cairo-Ismailia road.
The tragedy occurred when the bus was trying to cross one of the illegal level crossings, according to the investigations.
Investigations further said that the crossing is not included as part of the railway level crossings designed to the passage of vehicles.
The Prosecution, meanwhile, said that railway officials previously closed this illegal level crossing but the tourist village's owner re-opened it.
It also said that the driver of the ill-fated bus did not exceed the speed limit at the time of the accident.
