The General Directorate of Traffic has launched an awareness campaign at campsites in Al-Sakhir area. The move follows directives from the Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa
"Police patrols are being deployed in force at campsites to enhance awareness and clampdown on erroneous practices", Traffic Culture Acting Director said. A rich programme of activities have been lined up in cooperation with the Southern Governorate, the High Camping Committee, official authorities and civil society institutions.
Police patrols distributed leaflets which promote commitment to rules and regulations and renunciation of wrong traffic habits. The Directorate of Traffic Culture is also joining hands with the Directorate of Operations and Traffic Monitoring to survey erroneous practices and foster road safety.
The Traffic Culture Acting Director urged strict commitment to rules and regulations to protect lives and ensure an accident-free camping season. In a statement today, he underscored the important role of parents in guiding their children and encouraging them to cooperate with traffic police patrols in campsites.
