The train movement is back to normal Thursday on the Suez-Ain Shams line after a five-hour hiatus, the Egyptian National Railway (ENR) said.
The collapse of piles of rubbish while a train was passing in Ain Shams caused the halt, the authority said in a statement.
The first and the second carriages fell due to the rubbish collapse, causing no casualties.
