Transport Minister Saad Geoshy decided on Saturday to refer officials to the public prosecution for a long delay in opening a new mall at Sidi Gaber train station in Alexandria.

"The delay to take over and open the mall is considered corruption and public funds waste," the minster said while inspecting the newly-renovated site.

Since 2007, the state has spent around 250 million EGP to set up the mall, he said.

He formed a panel to take over the mall to be opened within one month.
