The Cairo Criminal Court decided on Tuesday to postpone the trial of Gamal and Alaa Mubarak, the sons of former president Hosni Mubarak, and seven other defendants in the case of violations including the sale of Al-Watany Bank of Egypt (AWB) to October 10.

The public prosecution called for handing down the harshest penalty to the defendants due to the gravity of the violations they committed.

The prosecution pointed out that the defendants got 70 percent of the bank shares after heavy purchases of the stocks.
