Tunisia has deployed military units along its land and sea borders with Libya to ward off potential threats to the country's territories, spokesperson for the Tunisian Defense Ministry Lieutenant-Colonel Belhassen Oueslati told state news agency TAP.
The situation in Libya is being "closely followed" and military aircraft are monitoring the airspace as well as land and sea borders, Oueslati added.
The effort also aims to block terrorist infiltration, arms trafficking, and smuggling subsidized goods.
