Tunisia's Foreign Ministry on Friday denied reports claiming that 50 Tunisian sailors on board four fishing boats were kidnapped by Libyan armed troops in the territorial waters.

In a statement, the ministry said that the Libyan coast guard suspended them as a procedure in vogue to check their identities.

All Tunisian sailors are in good health, the ministry added.

The Tunisian foreign and defense ministries are making unremitting endeavors to release them as soon as possible, the statement said.
