The Bureau of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) has decided to remain in session until the end of clashes taking place, since Monday morning, in Ben Guerdane, state-run TAP news agency reported.

The HPR bureau also decided to dedicate part of Tuesday’s plenary session to remarks by bloc presidents and reading the parliament’s declaration on the events in Ben Guerdane, said spokesman for the bureau Mongi Harbaoui.

He added: "the HPR Bureau also invited the Ministers of Defence and Interior for a session in camera to inform MPs of the latest developments."

Earlier, thirty five terrorists have been gunned down in an attack in Ben Guerdane.

The operation also left eighteen security personnel, military and civilians dead.

In a joint statement published earlier, the Ministries of National Defense and the Interior had reported that six National Guards, two policemen, a serviceman and a customs officer were killed.

A member of Nidaa Tounes Party was killed in clashes taking place in the border city of Ben Guerdane.

The party offered condolences to the family of victims and all martyrs of the nation
