Tunis - KUNA
Tunisia recalled its ambassador to Iraq and all diplomatic staff as result of the deteriorating security situation, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mokhtar Chaouachi said Tuesday.
Tunisia Agence Press (TAP) quoted the spokesperson as saying "Tunisia pulled out its ambassador and the members of its diplomatic mission in the Iraqi capital, a week ago, on a temporary basis till the situation gets back to normal.
"Only one embassy staffer remained to "provide a minimum service" to the Tunisian community of about 250 people," Chaouachi pointed out.
Recently, the security situation in Iraq deteriorated as a result of intense fighting between government forces and armed groups
